The local dues for The Edmond Association of Classroom Teachers for the 2019-2020 school year are $75. These dues pay for the EACT part-time president’s salary, as well as stipends for officers and the executive team. Additionally, these dues pay for the new teacher luncheon, teacher appreciation gifts, and the teacher retirement reception. Another area that dues pay is professional development -allowing participation in both delegate and representative assembly, lobbying at the capitol, and negotiation of a contract bargaining agreement.
The Oklahoma Education Association/National Education Association annual dues are $516 per year for the 2019-2020 school year. OEA/NEA dues pay for legal representation on both professional and personal levels. Additionally, professional development, lobbying and advocating at the national and state capitol for education issues, including part of the negotiation process are included in OEA/NEA dues. Also, dues pay for the training of the officer team of EACT.
